According to Foresight News, Japanese AI startup Sakana AI has completed a $100 million Series A financing round led by New Enterprise Associates, Khosla Ventures and Lux ​​Capital. The funds will be used for talent and infrastructure development to advance nature-inspired, sustainable and energy-efficient AI technologies.

Sakana AI, whose founders include Google researchers, is working with U.S. chipmaker Nvidia to develop Japan’s AI community, including research, data center access and designing new technologies for efficient base model development.

Sakana AI completed a $30 million seed round of financing in January this year, led by Lux Capital and participated by Khosla Ventures and others.
