According to Foresight News, Aurora Labs has developed a Bitcoin light client and relayer service to enable seamless interaction between the Bitcoin network and the NEAR protocol. The relayer updates the latest Bitcoin transactions to the on-chain smart contract.
NEAR launches the Satoshi Bridge, which combined with chain signatures allows users to deposit BTC directly into NEAR and interact with its dApps, leveraging the NEAR protocol, integrating Rune and Bitcoin Ordinals, and more DeFi use cases in the future.
Another light client-based application is Allstake, which uses light clients as part of its native BTC staking solution to achieve shared security, and the feature is expected to be launched in 6-8 weeks.
