According to Odaily Planet Daily, after winning a landmark antitrust lawsuit, the US Department of Justice is considering asking Google to split up. People familiar with the matter said that the most likely departments to be divested are the Android operating system and Google's web browser Chrome.
Officials are also considering forcing the sale of AdWords, the company’s platform for selling text ads, one of the people said. A forced breakup of Google would be the largest corporate breakup in the United States since AT&T was broken up in the 1980s.
