According to CryptoPotato, as Wall Street investors offloaded Apple and Nvidia shares, Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin sold a newly airdropped meme token named Neiro. The token, which has a market cap of $223 million, was recently listed on Forbes Digital Assets. Forbes describes Neiro as a decentralized meme token on the Ethereum blockchain, akin to the original Dogecoin ($DOGE) and its sister token Kabosu.
To promote Neiro, developers airdropped 17.145 billion tokens to Buterin, amounting to 4% of the token's supply and valued at approximately $130,000 at the time. The Neiro team announced on social media that Buterin was their largest holder. Despite Buterin selling all his Neiro tokens, the meme coin's value surged by 10% within 24 hours.
Following the sale, the Neiro team posted an open letter on their social media page, requesting Buterin to donate part of the proceeds to a stray dog shelter. They expressed gratitude for his contributions to the Ethereum platform and hoped for his support in their charitable endeavor.
