According to TechFlow, Injective announced that its mainnet Altaris upgrade plan will be carried out this week. The upgrade was initiated by Injective Improvement Proposal IIP-420, which aims to enhance scalability, introduce a new generation of smart contract functions, and strengthen the issuance of physical assets (RWA) and other improvements.

Currently, the Altaris chain upgrade has been successfully deployed on the testnet, and more than 99% of $INJ stakers have voted in favor of the IIP-420 proposal. If the proposal is passed, the upgrade will begin on August 1, 2024, Beijing time.

The Altaris upgrade will bring a number of new features and improvements to Injective, including optimizing block validation and increasing transaction throughput, introducing an upgraded smart contract environment, integrating RWA oracles, launching a general destruction auction function, updating developer toolkits, enhancing Injective Bridge performance and security, and integrating IBC hooks and packet forwarding middleware (PFM) to improve cross-chain capabilities.
