According to Bloomberg, Wall Street is leading the way in tokenized physical assets, but mainstream institutions are facing the question of whether to enter the gray area of DeFi. DeFi projects use automated software on the blockchain to provide financial services, which are usually not controlled by a single party, with vague regulations and many participants. The alternative for large institutions is to build blockchain-based assets such as bonds, or use tokenized products cautiously on public blockchains. Standard Chartered Bank said that full decentralization is "not realistic or desirable" in tokenization.
