The head of Turkey’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, BtcTurk, has resigned after seven years in the job as the company plans to expand overseas, Bloomberg reported.

Turkey is one of the main markets for cryptocurrencies, as general interest surges amid a high inflation environment. Tibuk said: “We will launch a global exchange, targeting markets in Latin America, Africa and Asia Pacific.”

He also mentioned that with Bitcoin in a bull run, prices are expected to be higher than current levels. Guneri said in another call that he will focus on international cooperation and "global affairs" and expects the cryptocurrency market to be "active" in the last quarter of this year and in 2025.

BtcTurk was founded in 2013 and has about 6 million users in Turkey. Elliptik Software and Trade Inc., which manages BtcTurk, is developing a stock trading platform that is expected to be launched by the end of the year.
