According to Odaily Planet Daily, a bipartisan group of 20 senators recently proposed an amendment to the 2012 Congressional Knowledge Stop Trading Act in a letter to House Speaker Mike Johnson and Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries to prevent members from trading stocks. U.S. Senator Josh Hawley said at a press conference: "Congress should not make money here (the stock market). There is no reason for members of Congress to profit from information that only they know and other Americans do not know."
