According to Odaily, Worldcoin announced that shortly after its launch in July 2023, the Worldcoin Foundation introduced a WLD token reservation mechanism. This system allows users who have not yet been verified to reserve WLD tokens for exchange at a future date. The aim of this initiative is to involve as many people as possible in Worldcoin, regardless of the availability of orb devices.
The announcement further stated that the original deadline for this portion of token claims was July 31. However, it has now been extended by a year to July 31, 2025. This move is expected to provide more opportunities for individuals to participate in the Worldcoin ecosystem, even if they do not have immediate access to the necessary orb devices.
