According to Foresight News, the Celo Foundation said in a statement that Celo core developer cLabs launched the L2 test network Dango to introduce EVM-compatible independent blockchains to Ethereum. The test network is built on Optimism's OP Stack and allows infrastructure providers to start upgrading the latest L2 node code.

Once all key infrastructure providers have been updated to support the L2 design, the Alfajores testnet will be upgraded (without creating a new fork) and developers will be able to test their end-user DApps. Since chain data and state will be preserved, no impact is expected to most user-facing DApps.
