According to TechFlow, a survey commissioned by Zumo and conducted by Focaldata showed that more than a third of young British people believe that cryptocurrency is an important issue in the upcoming British general election. 34% of young people aged 18-24 and 25-34 believe that the development of the crypto industry should be a priority for national politicians. 38% of young people aged 18-24 have invested in cryptocurrencies, and 40% (37% for those aged 25-34) know that friends and family hold cryptocurrencies. A similar proportion of young people (39% for those aged 18-24 and 37% for those aged 25-34) believe that this emerging industry is a way to achieve long-term high returns.

Nick Jones, founder and CEO of Zumo, said that as cryptocurrency enters the mainstream, young people in the UK hope that it can also enter the political agenda. He believes that given the widespread turmoil in the traditional financial system, the UK should support alternative financial solutions instead of panicking and comparing it to gambling. He emphasized that a resilient future financial system should incorporate new concepts and structures to provide added value to consumers.
