According to PANews, Jameson Lopp, co-founder of Bitcoin custody company Casa, issued a reminder on the X platform that any LND node (Lightning Network node) version operator before 0.17.0 should update immediately to patch a serious vulnerability. According to information shared by X platform user @DavidShares, LND versions before 0.17.0 are vulnerable to malicious DoS attacks. Running an old version of LND puts funds at risk because attacks are easy to occur. Because the attack is low-cost and simple, the severity is high. This serious vulnerability was discovered a year ago, in June 2023.
