According to Odaily Planet Daily, Securitize co-founder and CEO Carlos Domingo testified at a hearing of the Digital Assets, Fintech, and Inclusion Subcommittee of the U.S. House Financial Services Committee, calling for clearer regulatory rules for digital assets and expanding the privileges of special purpose broker-dealers (SPBDs) that handle digital assets to prevent the United States from falling behind Europe.
Carlos Domingo said lawmakers must provide clearer definitions of digital assets and tokenized securities to distinguish them from other digital assets. He also said both public and permissionless blockchains and private and permissioned blockchains must be able to support tokenized securities.
