According to CoinDesk, Layer-1 blockchain Aptos (APT) said on Thursday that it will integrate the cross-chain interoperability protocol (CCIP) and data sources of real-world data provider Chainlink as part of joining Chainlink's SCALE program. This expansion was announced during a panel discussion at the Consensus 2024 conference in Austin, Texas, and is intended to help developers on Aptos build decentralized applications (dApps).

The partnership will make Aptos the first Move-based blockchain to integrate Chainlink services, the press release stated. As the number of independent blockchains grows, communication between different networks poses a challenge to the digital asset economy. Chainlink is one of the key projects that is connecting these systems and transferring data between them and the outside world.

Founded by former employees of Facebook parent company Meta, Aptos is a blockchain focused on low-cost transactions and high throughput. It is built with the Move programming language, which is the basis of Meta's shuttered crypto project Diem.
