According to a post on the Binance blog, the Binance Financial Crime Compliance and Investigations team worked with the Netherlands Fiscal Information and Investigation Service (FIOD) to freeze millions of euros in funds involved in the ZKasino scam.
On April 29, the FIOD arrested a suspect for fraud, embezzlement and money laundering in connection with the alleged gambling platform ZKasino, which had promised investors a return of their investments within 30 days, but investigations found that the platform’s smart contract settings indicated that such a return was not actually intended to take place.
Binance's anti-money laundering detection tools and data analysis capabilities help detect suspicious activities and assist law enforcement officers in tracking suspects. Last year, Binance handled more than 58,000 law enforcement requests and conducted approximately 120 training sessions, sharing its expertise with law enforcement agencies around the world. The investigation into this case is still ongoing, and FIOD said it "does not rule out more arrests."
