According to Odaily Planet Daily, YPF Luz, a subsidiary of YPF, Argentina's largest state-owned power company, recently announced an important agreement with Bitcoin mining company GDA (Genesis Digital Assets Limited) to open a new Bitcoin mining facility that will use stranded gas for mining.

The project is located at the Bajo del Toro thermal power plant, operated by YPF Luz. It will power 1,200 bitcoin mining machines to provide monetary value to stranded gas that would otherwise be flared into the atmosphere. It is also the first time GDA has opened a mining operation in Latin America.
