According to CryptoPotato, the EigenLayer team announced on April 9 that the platform's EigenDA, the first available verification service, has been launched on the Ethereum mainnet. The team added that more than 4.1 million ETH has been re-staking on EigenLayer, and 70% of all new Ethereum validators have chosen to re-stake on the platform in the past few weeks. In addition, re-staking can now entrust their entire stake to operators who choose to run available verification services such as EigenDA. Re-staking allows users to stake the same ETH on Ethereum and other protocols. Platforms like EigenLayer use Ethereum's validators and staking tokens to enable smaller and newer blockchains to benefit from their security and trust systems. EigenLayer also faces a trade-off between neutrality and decentralization, preventing the dominance of a single staking provider. In addition, EigenDA provides super scalability, cost flexibility, and integration convenience for rollups. It aims to be the ultimate solution for Ethereum data availability. EigenLayer's total locked value is currently $13.3 billion, and it has soared 1,100% since the beginning of the year, according to DeFiLlama data. The Ethereum staking ecosystem is very healthy, with approximately 27% of the total circulating supply currently being staked. This equates to 32.2 million ETH, which is worth approximately $112 billion at current spot prices according to Dune Analytics. Ethereum also has over a million validators, making it one of the most secure blockchains in the crypto space. Lido remains the dominant liquidity staking provider, accounting for 29% of the total staked, or $33.2 billion in ETH.
