According to Odaily Planet Daily, a recent report from investment bank TD Cowen stated that the CBDC Anti-Surveillance State Act, proposed by U.S. House Majority Whip Tom Emmer last year, may be voted on together with the much-anticipated stablecoin bill. This could undermine bipartisan support for the stablecoin bill, as Democrats generally believe that the value of cryptocurrencies issued by central banks should at least be explored. Senior leaders of both parties have been negotiating for years on the conclusion of the stablecoin bill. Previously, Federal Reserve Chairman Powell said that the central bank is "far from" proposing or adopting CBDC.
