According to CoinDesk, Judge James Mellor ordered a global freeze on Craig Wright’s assets worth £6 million. In a legal action filed by the Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA) earlier this month, Mellor discovered that Wright was not Bitcoin inventor Satoshi Nakamoto.

The judge ruled that Wright risked moving assets offshore to avoid paying fees related to the case. In a March 14 decision, Judge James Mellor, who heard the COPA case, also found that Wright did not write the Bitcoin white paper or participate in the initial version of the Bitcoin software. Shortly thereafter, Wright notified the UK Companies House that his shares in RCJBR Holding had been transferred to DeMorgan, a company incorporated under Singapore law. According to a judgment on Wednesday, the cost of COPA is approximately £6.7 million.

"Understandably, this caused serious concern on the part of COPA that Dr Wright was taking steps to try to evade his post-trial costs," Mellor wrote in his judgment.
