According to Odaily Planet Daily, Messari Vice President of Research Maartje Bus said at BUIDL Asia in Seoul that Meme coins will remain an important part of the cryptocurrency market and may become a new asset class. Bus believes that meme coins are a way to monetize attention and can be viewed as a "long-tail speculative service," similar to lottery tickets or penny stocks. Meme coins can also serve as a “Trojan horse” to introduce cryptographic concepts such as decentralization and encrypted wallets to Web3 newbies. In addition, Bus said that the integration of artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency, DePIN and EIP-4844 expansion are emerging trends in the encryption industry other than Meme coins.
