According to CoinDesk, Chainway Labs announced earlier this month that it is developing the first zero-knowledge rollup for Bitcoin: Citrea. The company revealed on Wednesday that it had raised $2.7 million in a seed funding round led by Galaxy Ventures. Participating investors also include Delphi Ventures, Eric Wall, co-founder of the Taproot Wizards NFT project, and Anurag Arjun, co-founder of the data availability blockchain Avail. Citrea is “the first convolution to leverage zero-knowledge technology to enhance the power of the Bitcoin block space,” Chainway Labs said. Citrea is not yet live, but co-founder Orkun Mahir Kılıç said his 12-person team plans to release a test network next quarter.
