According to TechFlow, Bitcoin interoperability layer MAP Protocol announced a partnership with Bitcoin's second-layer network Merlin Chain to bring Bitcoin-level peer-to-peer cross-chain interoperability between Bitcoin L2s and between different Bitcoin L2s and EVM ecosystems. The two parties will expand more DeFi and non-DeFi use cases for Bitcoin ecosystem assets, protocols, and products, unleashing the full potential of an interoperable Bitcoin ecosystem.
As a Bitcoin L2 interoperability layer built on the ZK light client, MAP Protocol will further optimize the developer API to help application developers easily deploy relevant developer tools covering all Bitcoin L2 and realize cross-chain interoperability. On the user side, product components will be created that users can use without feeling cross-chain, such as gas-free token operations and algorithm default chain selection.
20+ applications within the MAP Protocol ecosystem, such as Hiveswap, LessGas, and STST, will work with B² Network to explore more innovative possibilities for interoperability between Bitcoin L2 and the Bitcoin ecosystem.
