According to Cointelegraph, derivatives market CME Group will launch reference rates for Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) for the Asia-Pacific region, another sign of Asia's growing institutional interest in cryptocurrencies. CME Group said that from September 11, cryptocurrency institutions and investors in Asia will have access to two reference rates tracking BTC and ETH, which will be released once a day at 4 pm (Hong Kong time). Giovanni Vicioso, head of crypto products at CME Group, said that so far this year, CME's cryptocurrency trading volume traded during non-US hours accounted for 37%, of which 11% came from the Asia-Pacific region.
