According to CRYPTOPOTATO, payment technology company Block (formerly Square) announced that its Bitcoin revenue in the second quarter of 2023 increased by about 34% from the second quarter of 2022. The company, led by former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, is a major player in the crypto space and owns more than 8,000 Bitcoins. Block revealed that its mobile app Cash App, which allows currency transfers, generated $2.39 billion in Bitcoin revenue in the second quarter of 2023, about 34% higher than $1.8 billion in the same period last year. Cash App's Bitcoin gross profit was $44 million, a year-on-year increase of 7%. As of the end of June 2023, Block's Bitcoin investment was worth $245 million. However, as the price of the main digital asset fell slightly in the following weeks, the company's current holdings of 8,027 Bitcoins are worth about $234 million.
