Pierre Rochard, vice president of research at Bitcoin mining company Riot Platforms, tweeted that Inscriptions of the Bitcoin network's NFT protocol Ordinal are consuming 50% of Bitcoin block space, with block space utilization at 100% and median fees falling.

It is reported that software engineer Casey Rodarmor launched the Bitcoin-based NFT protocol Ordinals. Satoshi is the atomic native currency of the Bitcoin network. The Ordinals protocol can engrave any content on a single Satoshi, creating unique Bitcoin-native digital artworks that can be stored in a Bitcoin wallet and transferred through Bitcoin transactions. Inscriptions are engraved with arbitrary content, creating Bitcoin-native digital artifacts, commonly known as NFTs. Inscriptions do not require side chains or separate tokens.
