According to BlockBeats, on January 6, ZKcandy, a game-focused Layer 2 blockchain supported by ZKsync, announced the completion of a $4 million private fundraising round, with investors including Wemix Pte. Ltd., Animoca Ventures, Spartan Group, Perlone Capital, Presto Labs, Flowdesk, Prometheuz, Lecca Ventures, and Efficient Frontier. Angel investors and early contributors from Stacks, Analog, Mittaria, Xangle, and Trading Strategies also participated.

ZKcandy's CEO Lau Kin Wai stated that this round of financing "is a significant step for the team" and will help the project move towards the goal of making Web3 games more accessible to the general public. The project claims to currently have "over 25 games in various stages of preparation for launch."

ZKcandy is developed and operated by iCandy. Lemon Sky Studios is a subsidiary of iCandy and has been involved in the development of several well-known AAA games, such as (Rise of the Ronin), (The Last of Us Part II Remastered), (Spider-Man 2), (Baldur's Gate 3), and (Final Fantasy XVI).
