Lightspeed organized an anonymous survey and distributed it to Solana creators to understand their views on other ecosystems, venture capital, startups, etc.

The results of the survey we conducted with 42 creators are as follows:

(If you were to build on a blockchain other than Solana, which one would you choose?)

Some also stated: “No. I wouldn't have gotten into cryptocurrency without Solana.”

(What is your favorite political party in the U.S.?)

(Which crypto venture capital do you rate the highest?)

Some also stated: “Choosing just one is unfair.”

(Which crypto venture capital do you rate the lowest?)

“Asian venture capital firms only imitate based on who the leader is.”

(The Solana conspiracy group promotes internal projects at the expense of non-conspiracy projects)

The creators also stated: “I don’t know, it really doesn’t matter anyway.”

“I don’t like this question; it feels provocative rather than informative.”

“There is, and I am a part of it, but I will not 'sacrifice non-conspiracy projects' because I have also invested a lot of time and money into 'non-conspiracy projects'. It’s a two-way street—you give, you receive.”

“There isn’t, and I am a part of it.”

“In the early days and during the bear market, a network of relationships naturally formed. Over the years, those who valued collaboration and helped Solana naturally developed closer networks. Some of these individuals (including those from the OG Solana Labs team) later found a significant voice and followers. This is natural. Almost all surviving teams have also received funding from venture capital and Solana venture capital. These are facts, but in my opinion, there is no malice in this. The Solana Foundation has done a great job of actively spreading the impact generated and supporting people in the entire ecosystem (see Superteam, etc.). In my view, Toly particularly excels in cheering for builders without any discrimination, based on: 1) what they are building is cool; 2) sincerity.”

(What is the biggest issue facing Solana right now?)

“More block space needs to be added as soon as possible. 5 times the demand + 2 times the price appreciation = 10 times larger blocks are needed to maintain the same costs for application builders!”

(Are meme coins good or bad for Solana?)

(If it wasn’t your own company, which Solana startup would you want to join the most?)

(If it wasn’t your own company, which Solana startup would you least want to join?)

“The one that is not accelerated.”

(What is overvalued in the Solana ecosystem?)

“SocialFi, DeSci, and gaming are all equally bad.”

(What is undervalued in the Solana ecosystem?)

(Which one has the biggest impact on Solana's reputation?)

“FTX was the best, but also the worst in the early days, haha.”

There are many areas worth exploring, but I found that some content caught people's interest: other founders do not rate pump.fun highly, but they believe memes are very beneficial to the ecosystem. Moreover, Base and Sui seem to be the most attractive competitors to Solana.
