On December 31, 2024, the Western District Court of Seoul issued an arrest warrant for the suspended President Yoon Suk-yeol on charges of inciting a coup and abusing power. This is the first time in South Korea's constitutional history that an arrest warrant has been issued for a sitting president. The arrest warrant is valid until January 6.
