Bitcoin price predictions for 2025 range from $80,000 to $150,000, according to CoinShares head of research James Butterfill. Bitcoin’s future performance will largely depend on how potential regulatory developments in the United States play out.

Experts believe that Bitcoin has the potential to compete with gold as a reserve asset, and these expectations have led to a significant increase in long-term forecasts.

James Butterfill stated in a CNBC interview that Bitcoin’s price could reach between $80,000 and $150,000 by 2025. This prediction is consistent with the general market sentiment that such levels are possible under the right conditions. Currently, Bitcoin’s market value is around 10% of gold. Butterfill emphasized that in the longer term, $250,000 could be achievable, but this would be possible through a period in which lower price ranges are observed.

“It’s hard to predict this point clearly, but I don’t expect to reach $250,000 until 2025. Still, Bitcoin will tend to move in that direction over time,” Butterfill said, also citing the influence of government policies on price movements as a major factor.

CoinShares isn’t the only firm making bullish predictions for Bitcoin. Bitwise Asset Management predicts that Bitcoin will reach $200,000 by the end of 2025. This forecast has the potential to significantly increase the profitability of companies with significant Bitcoin positions, such as MicroStrategy.

VanEck, making a bolder prediction, says that Bitcoin could rise to $3 million by 2050. This prediction is supported by the idea that Bitcoin could become a global reserve asset. Analysts note that Bitcoin’s price is inversely correlated with the US dollar and positively correlated with M2 money supply growth. This reinforces a more optimistic market outlook, especially as inflationary pressures continue.

Institutional demand for Bitcoin is also increasing. Leading investment firm BlackRock recommends allocating 1% to 2% of traditional portfolios to Bitcoin. This is seen as an important step towards cementing Bitcoin’s place in the mainstream financial system.

Additionally, many countries are working on creating national Bitcoin reserves. Countries such as Russia, Japan, the United States, and Switzerland are working on various projects to secure Bitcoin assets at the national level. Such initiatives increase Bitcoin’s long-term confidence.

Finally, Pantera Capital predicts that Bitcoin could reach $117,000 by 2025 and $740,000 by 2028. This prediction conveys a strong belief in Bitcoin’s future growth potential.
