Golden Finance reports that starting January 1, cryptocurrency mining will be fully banned in ten regions of Russia, while three other regions will implement partial bans. This government decree was passed on December 23, stipulating a complete ban on mining from January 2025 to March 2031. In the other three regions, there will be partial restrictions on mining during each heating season (from November 15 to March 15 of the following year, except for the first year after the ban takes effect on January 1, 2025). Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak stated at the end of December that the number of regions banning cryptocurrency mining could increase if requests are made by governors. The authorities of the Republic of Khakassia have already requested the Ministry of Energy to limit mining activities in the region. (Golden Ten)
