Bitcoin mining company HIVE Digital is relocating its headquarters from Vancouver, Canada, to San Antonio, Texas, due to the favorable regulatory conditions for Bitcoin mining and access to the stronger capital markets in the U.S.
The company announced on Tuesday that it has signed a lease agreement for office space in San Antonio, marking an important step in establishing its U.S. headquarters. HIVE emphasized that Texas's business-friendly environment, skilled workforce, and advanced energy infrastructure were key factors in its decision. Additionally, the company noted that the support for Bitcoin from elected President Trump is a complementary advantage for its operations.
As part of its U.S. expansion, HIVE will transition to reporting its financial results in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) starting from the end of its fiscal year in March 2025.
While HIVE's headquarters will be moving, the company's Chief Financial Officer and Chief Executive Officer will remain in Canada to ensure operational continuity. The company also plans to hire an internal auditor in San Antonio to support its U.S. regulatory obligations.
