- Purpose of Washing Out: In order to clean up speculative chips, reduce costs, force short-term traders or retail investors with insufficient confidence to exit, and absorb their chips, the main force may conduct around 1 to 3 rounds of pulling up followed by a smashing operation. For example, after the first pull-up, if they smash the price, it creates a false impression of decline, prompting some retail investors to sell. They may then pull up again; if they find that there are still many following retail investors, they may smash the price again. This is usually not done frequently to avoid losing too many chips or raising market suspicion.

- Purpose of Selling: If the main force wants to sell at a relatively high position, they may first pull up to attract buying, then smash the price to create a decline, triggering panic selling. They will then buy back some chips at a lower price and pull up to sell, repeating this 2 to 4 times. However, if the market environment is poor or the main force urgently needs to cash out, they may only conduct one pull-up followed by a significant smash to sell; if market enthusiasm is high, the main force may also increase the frequency of pulling and smashing to gain more selling opportunities.

- Preparing for a New Market Trend: The main force, in order to build positions at a lower price for the next round, may intentionally smash down with a small portion of chips to create a bearish atmosphere. They may first pull up to test the upper pressure, then smash the price to scare out panic selling, generally conducting this around 2 to 3 times to collect enough chips at a low level before starting a new market trend.
