Tether's Bitcoin holdings increase to approximately 83,759 BTC, with a market value of about $7.7 billion

The stablecoin issuer Tether's Bitcoin holdings have surpassed 83,000 BTC. On-chain data shows that on December 30, 2024, wallets associated with Tether added 8,404.48 BTC, valued at approximately $772 million.

As of now, Tether's total holdings amount to 83,758.57 BTC, with a market value of about $7.7 billion. This transaction includes the receipt of 7,628.92 BTC from the Bitfinex tagged wallet and a subsequent transfer of 775.568 BTC.

It is noteworthy that Tether has previously used the lucky number “8” multiple times in its acquisitions, such as purchasing 8,888.88 BTC in March 2024 and December 2023. This numerical pattern has sparked speculation about its strategy or symbolic significance. Additionally, Tether manages a diversified asset portfolio, including 4 million CRO, 2.293 million TRX, 148.46 ETH, 753,036 USDC, and 176 BNB.
