Access control vulnerabilities became the main cause of losses in cryptocurrency hacking attacks in 2024, accounting for 75% of the total damage in the DeFi, CeFi, and gaming/metaverse sectors. According to a report by Hacken, losses from unauthorized access and theft of private keys reached $1.7 billion, significantly higher than last year's figures. In CeFi, major incidents at DMM Exchange and WazirX resulted in losses exceeding $500 million.
