El Salvador has become the sixth country to hold more than 6,000 Bitcoin, cementing its leadership in the Bitcoin space.

The National Bitcoin Office's wallet tracker shows the country added one bitcoin on December 29, bringing its total to 6,000.77 bitcoins, worth $569.3 million.

El Salvador bought its first 200 bitcoins on September 6, 2021, before becoming the first country to legalize bitcoin.

According to BitBo's Bitcoin vault statistics, El Salvador ranks 6th in Bitcoin reserves.
