In a bizarre and disturbing trend, cryptocurrency livestreaming has taken a dark turn, with developers resorting to extreme stunts and antics to promote their tokens. What started as a viral sensation has quickly spiralled out of control, with some individuals putting their lives at risk and others engaging in animal abuse and degradation.

The Rise of Meme Coin Livestreaming

The trend began with a mom promising to perform sexual acts if her son’s meme coin, LiveMom, reached specific market caps. While the stunt was widely ridiculed, it sparked a flurry of copycat tokens and livestreams, with developers competing to outdo each other in outrageous and often disturbing stunts.

Extreme Stunts and Consequences

One developer, Mikol, set himself on fire while livestreaming for his TruthOrDare token, suffering third-degree burns and months of rehabilitation. Another, Trevv, overdosed on fentanyl while livestreaming for his Crack Head Dev token, before faking his own death and creating new tokens.

Animal Abuse and Gun Violence

The livestreaming meta has also featured animal abuse, with developers threatening to harm or kill animals if their tokens didn’t reach certain market caps. In one disturbing incident, a chicken was beheaded on live stream. Gun violence has also been a feature, with one developer shooting a pistol while livestreaming.

Faked Suicide and the End of Pump.fun Livestreaming

The trend finally came to an end when a developer, Beni, faked his own suicide on live stream, prompting Pump.fun to disable its native livestreaming feature. However, the stunt was later revealed to be fake, and the platform has since taken steps to prevent similar incidents.

A Call for Responsibility

While the crypto community has always celebrated its degenerate side, the recent livestreaming trend has gone too far. It’s time for developers and platforms to take responsibility and ensure that no harm comes to humans or animals in the pursuit of promoting tokens.
