According to Foresight News and reported by Business Insider, former FTX executive Salame pleaded guilty last September, admitting to participating in a conspiracy for illegal political donations and unlicensed money transfer operations. He was sentenced to 7.5 years in prison and began serving his sentence in October of this year. According to records from the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Salame's release date is set for March 1, 2031, which is just over a year short of the full 7.5 years.

The spokesperson for the prison management bureau stated that the agency does not comment on the conditions of confinement of any inmates (including release plans), but indicated that under the First Step Act of 2018, inmates can earn time off their sentences for good behavior.
