ChainCatcher news, according to Business Insider, former FTX executive Salame pleaded guilty last September, admitting to involvement in a conspiracy for illegal political donations and unlicensed money transfer operations, and was sentenced to 7.5 years in prison, starting his sentence in October of this year.

However, according to federal prison records reviewed, Salame's release date is set for March 1, 2031, which is just over a year short of the 7.5 years.

A spokesperson for the Bureau of Prisons stated that the agency does not comment on the conditions of confinement for any inmate (including release plans), but noted that under the First Step Act of 2018, inmates can earn time off their sentences for good behavior.
