On Monday (23rd), the experiment "aiPool", in which AI agents independently conduct fair token pre-sales, caused widespread discussion. In this experiment, users send funds to AI agents, which automatically create liquidity pools and allocate pre-sale tokens. The purpose of this experiment is to make AI-managed pre-sales safer and more transparent, and avoid problems such as team running away or fraud.
The experiment was initiated by Skely, who developed the AI agent using the Eliza framework of ai16z. To prevent human intervention, the agent runs in a trusted execution environment (TEE). Because the experiment is very novel, Shaw, the founder of ai16z, also excitedly forwarded the relevant news and expressed his interest and optimism.
aiPool raises over $6 million
With the enthusiastic attention of the market, this experiment raised 25,000 SOL in less than 60 minutes, worth about 4.77 million US dollars. It is reported that the final pre-sale address received a total of more than 30,000 SOL, worth more than 6 million US dollars.
Skely's X account was frozen
What made this experiment even more dramatic was that yesterday afternoon (24th), Skely's X account was suddenly frozen, and the market began to worry: Can this experiment still go smoothly? Are the funds of investors participating in the pre-sale still safe?
Currently, Skely’s X account @123skely has not been unbanned.
aiPool experiment will continue
Later, a user named @0xwitchy who claimed to be connected with Skely tweeted that Skely’s account was blocked due to malicious reporting, but the experimental plan would not change. He also mentioned:
The AI will be activated around noon EST, but the exact time will not be disclosed in advance to avoid snipers. The AI agent will randomly choose a name, so please look forward to the name it chooses.
@0xwitchy also emphasized that he is not a member of the team and did not participate in the pre-sale.
This tweet was retweeted by ai16z founder Shaw, who also tweeted earlier:
“Skely was banned on the same day we saw the birth of the first truly autonomous swarm and autonomous foundry agent, which makes people more optimistic about the project.”
aiPool official Twitter announced the token name and address
As the market was nervously watching whether this experiment would be completed autonomously by an AI agent, at 8:30 this morning, aiPool’s official Twitter account released a suspected token name - $METAVERSE (the subsequent token contract address was shown as $METAV).
The tweet was accompanied by a meme:
When you realize that reality is just another simulation.
ai16z founder Shaw then retweeted the tweet and said excitedly:
“Eliza, the first fully autonomous token deployment in a TEE, is here! So cool, and it’s in the Metaverse!”
Later, aiPool officially announced the contract address of the token: HCgvbV9Qcf9TVGPGKMGbVEj8WwwVD6HhTt5E2i3qkeN9.
$METAV opens at nearly $100 million
According to Dexscreener, $METAV’s market cap was close to $100 million at the opening, before falling back slightly and now stands at $74.8 million. Despite the pullback, the gain over the past 24 hours is still a staggering 398%.
Will he become the next GOAT?
The reason why $METAV is so popular in the market is that it is the first token to be independently pre-sold by an AI agent. This AI agent is said to have the following capabilities:
Own a wallet and protect private keys in TEE;
Receive donations;
Start token issuance (the first token issued is $METAV, the name is also self-chosen);
Create liquidity pools;
Distribute tokens to users.
If all of this can really be done completely autonomously by AI, it will undoubtedly be a huge breakthrough.
This reminds us of the GOAT token, the pioneer of the AI meme track. GOAT was initiated by an AI agent called Truth Terminal, which was developed by New Zealand AI researcher Andy Ayrey. Truth Terminal proposed the concept of "GOATSE OF GNOSIS" when talking to other AIs, which eventually led to the birth of the GOAT meme coin.
However, GOAT’s token deployment was actually done by a third party, and the token address was then recognized by Truth Terminal, so strictly speaking it was not completely deployed autonomously by AI (not completely without human intervention).
Since then, many tokens claiming to be "AI autonomously deployed" have emerged in the market, such as MANA, another meme coin released by Truth Terminal. However, the market value of MANA has experienced drastic fluctuations and has fallen from its high point to US$5.6 million, evaporating nearly 87%.
Therefore, whether $METAV is truly fully deployed by AI autonomously, and whether it can continue to gain popularity and become the next GOAT (market value once reached $1 billion) even if the community reaches a consensus, is still full of uncertainty. This topic deserves continued attention.
