The most expensive lie in history: the false creator of Bitcoin claims 1 trillion euros and is about to go to jail.

Despite being unable to present legal arguments, Craig Wright is risking his freedom after a billion-dollar lawsuit.

For years, Craig Wright has claimed to be the person behind Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonym of the creator of Bitcoin. Unfortunately for his interests, this claim has been contradicted on numerous occasions and, in fact, an HBO documentary pointed out that the true creator is Peter Todd. Nevertheless, Wright has not stopped in his attempt and, after being sentenced to 12 months in prison, fled to Asia to avoid jail. And, surprisingly, he has utilized his new location after filing a lawsuit for 1 trillion euros.

As Ars Technica indicates, Wright could avoid jail if he did not violate any more court orders, but he chose to file a massive lawsuit against Block, a payment company founded by Jack Dorsey (creator of Twitter) and others involved in the development of Bitcoin. And, despite being legally prohibited from making any claims related to intellectual property concerning Bitcoin, his new lawsuit includes these assertions. Therefore, he not only violates previous court orders but also faces the possibility of going to jail.

How far is he willing to go

In March, a UK court ruled that Wright is not Satoshi Nakamoto. Furthermore, it also revealed that the evidence he presented was largely fabricated. For this reason, Wright faces possible criminal charges for offenses such as perjury and forgery, both stemming from his insistence on claiming that he invented Bitcoin. In fact, he created a fictitious entity called BTC Core in his lawsuits to suggest that it represented Bitcoin developers, but the court determined that this entity does not exist.
