Trump posted on Truth Social that Bo Hines will serve as the Executive Director of the President's Digital Asset Advisory Council ('Crypto Council').
Trump wrote: "In his new role, Bo will work with David to promote innovation and growth in the digital asset space while ensuring that industry leaders have the resources they need to succeed. Together, they will create an environment where this industry can flourish and continue to be the cornerstone of our nation's technological progress."
Trump also specifically mentioned that Bo is a graduate of Yale University.
This appointment is actually a bit surprising, as Bo Hines is not a well-known figure in the crypto circle.
Compared to Bo Hines's leadership, Trump's earlier appointment of AI and crypto czar David O. Sacks is more familiar to the crypto community, as he was the COO of Paypal, a long-time supporter of Solana in the crypto industry, and an early investor in the crypto investment firm Multicoin Capital.
Bo Hines's experience is even more amazing; up until now, his Wikipedia introduction still describes him as a football player.
He initially studied at North Carolina State University, later transferring to Yale's football team, but his performance on the field was average; after joining Yale's team in 2015, he only played four games, didn't play at all in 16/17, and then graduated from Yale.
He was born in 1995, so young to be a presidential advisor, and transitioning from a football player to advise the president must be a rare talent!
Before becoming a presidential advisor, he also ran for a congressional seat, but he was not elected.
But this setback completely failed to prevent this young talent from entering the political center.
After being nominated by Trump to serve as a crypto advisor, Bo also expressed his gratitude on Twitter immediately.
