Adam Back, co-founder and CEO of Blockstream, inventor of Hashcash, and a renowned cryptographer, stated that quantum computing could make the Bitcoin network stronger. Industry insiders have previously expressed concerns that advancements in quantum physics could enable quantum computing to perform computational processes at unprecedented speeds, potentially jeopardizing cryptographic algorithms in the future. Back posted on X, stating: 'Post-Quantum (PQ) will still take decades,' which is why hash-based PQ solutions are never feasible: 'PQ signature research will ultimately yield conservative, well-reviewed, more compact signatures that Bitcoin can consider as another option.'
