Michael Saylor’s MicroStrategy has added three new members to its board of directors, including former Binance.US CEO Brian Brooks, who was recently rumored to be a candidate for SEC chairman MicroStrategy, the company of bitcoin investor Michael Saylor, has added former Binance.US CEO Brian Brooks and two other executives to its board of directors. The appointments come after Nasdaq’s recent announcement that MicroStrategy would be included in the Nasdaq 100 Index.
Brian Brooks, Jane Dietze — who also sits on Galaxy Digital’s board of directors — and Greg Winarski, chief legal officer at Fanatics Holdings, have joined MicroStrategy’s board of directors. Their additions bring the total number of MicroStrategy board members to nine, according to a Dec. 20 filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Swan says Brooks signing is 'big deal'
Brooks, Dietz and Winarski will be "eligible for stock awards," according to the statement.
Bitcoin platform Swan Bitcoin said in a post on X on December 21 that Brooks’ appointment is a “big deal.”
“As a watchdog, Brooks oversaw the entire U.S. banking system and was closely tied to it,” according to Swan Bitcoin. In August 2021, Brooks stepped down as CEO of Binance.US after less than four months, citing “differences over strategic direction.”
“All three are particularly good,” crypto commentator MacroScope told his 77,200 followers.
