Arthur Hayes – “Trump's inauguration could trigger a cryptocurrency sell-off”
Arthur Hayes, co-founder of the BitMEX exchange, predicts that Donald Trump's inauguration could trigger a cryptocurrency sell-off. He believes that the high expectations for an "economic miracle" from the Trump administration are unrealistic, due to the lack of feasible political solutions in the short term. Hayes forecasts that delays in changing cryptocurrency policies will lead to a significant sell-off of cryptocurrencies and related assets in the first year of the term. He also predicts that the market will decline sharply in January 2025, coinciding with Trump's inauguration, and that his Maelstrom fund will reduce some positions to buy back at lower prices in the first half of 2025. However, Hayes remains optimistic about the long-term prospects of Bitcoin.
