I would like to clarify a bit about futures and their influence on the crypto market.
It is important to immediately understand that futures are not a factor influencing growth but rather bets on growth or decline, like in bookmakers. In the minds of many, thanks to numerous 'experts' and 'market sharks,' there is an impression that 'shaving the hamsters' means taking money for oneself from the exchange or market - this is not the case; the exchange and market do not care how much you earned or how much you lost.
The theory that if there are many shorts on a coin for conditional billions, it will necessarily rise against the market to shave the short sellers - NO. The coin doesn't care how many shorts there are (this only affects indirectly).
I will illustrate with an example.
There is a product, for example, token LUK, where something happened within the company, a malfunction or a failure or something else, because of this, a certain number of holders started to dump it on the SPOT and the coin dropped. The casino players see this and begin to short, the total amount of shorts may be, for example, 10 million, but that does not mean that these millions relate to capitalization. Casino players have merely made a bet on a decline, while others, in contrast, bet on growth; then, for example, the project resolves the issue and holders will no longer sell, and the coin will start to fluctuate in place or return to previous values, and the short sellers will be shaved. BUT NEITHER THE PROJECT TEAM NOR THE EXCHANGE will take these 10 million for themselves; they will be taken by those who made the opposing bet, and the exchange where the trading occurred will take its commission. People are shaved by other people. Naturally, a certain group of individuals having insights can make a more correct bet and thereby obtain a part of the liquidation of short sellers.
Now pay attention: if the project continues to have problems and holders on the SPOT continue to sell and the price continues to fall, then no matter how many shorts there are, the price will continue to fall without considering the need to shave someone.
If we draw an analogy, the market is like a football match influenced by many factors such as team composition, weather, coaching staff, etc., and it is precisely from this that it will depend whether the team wins or loses, BUT NOT AT ALL FROM THE FACT THAT IN THE BOOKMAKER COMPANY THE BETS ON WINNING OR LOSING ARE HIGHER.
Futures are bets on market movement and not a factor that provokes growth or decline. The exchange broadcasts the chart in real-time; the chart moves based on purchases and sales on the SPOT, and those billions that the 'experts' talk about as a factor, saying 'look at the liquidations of a billion or longs of a billion' or vice versa, they do not go into the project's capitalization; they do not influence the value; they are distributed among futures players like bets on sports where some bet on team A and others on team B. Team A won, and the bets on team B went to those who bet on team A, except for the commission.
Naturally, as I wrote above, there are insights, there are manipulations by exchanges for their own benefit, etc., but this is just a speck for the global market. A billion in longs affects the price of Bitcoin less than a million that is purchased on the spot, as it is on the spot that participants buy a specific coin, investing money in its capitalization and thereby influencing the price, whereas those engaged in futures trading are making bets and distributing money among themselves, some shaving others.
I wrote this to point out that news and conclusions need to be filtered; one should look at the real situation in the market and within the project that interests you, not at the betting indicators, as there can be huge figures that are great for headlines in Telegram channels and the media, but have virtually no impact on the price from these numbers.
Naturally, indirectly, part of the liquidity for purchases on the spot is taken from speculations on futures, but I will repeat, this is INDIRECT influence - a speck.
As always, I tried to describe how this works in an accessible way, but those who, despite my recommendation not to venture into the casino, still decide or have already decided to do so MUST first thoroughly study where they have entered, how it works, etc.
