Trump has chosen up to 13 billionaires for the new administration
President-elect Donald Trump is building a new cabinet with a large number of billionaires. He has appointed at least a dozen super-rich individuals to key positions in the upcoming administration. Among them are notable names such as Elon Musk, the richest person in the world, Viviek Ramaswamy, Doug Burgum, Linda McMahon, Howard Lutnick, and Scott Bessent. Additionally, Trump has also appointed other figures to important positions such as the Director of the FBI (Kash Patel), the Administrator of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) (Chad Chronister), the U.S. Ambassador to France (Charles Kushner), and the Senior Advisor to the President for Arab countries and the Middle East region (Massad Boulos). The appointment of many billionaires to the cabinet has sparked much debate, with some expressing concerns about the foreign policy experience of some candidates and the potential for the new administration to become a "private corporation." Trump is also considering candidates for the position of Secretary of the Treasury, including former Chairman of the U.S. Federal Reserve Kevin Warsh, billionaire Marc Rowan, Howard Lutnick, and Scott Bessent. The Electoral College officially confirmed Trump as the 47th President of the United States on December 17.
