The cryptocurrency market witnessed a significant growth in the number of daily active users during 2024. According to data from the BlockBit platform, this number increased from 7.7 million users at the beginning of the year to 18.7 million users in December.
This expansion is attributed to several factors, including increased public awareness of cryptocurrencies, increased interest from individual and institutional investors, and the ongoing development of blockchain technology. This growth reflects the digital shift towards decentralized financial systems, paving the way for more innovations in this field.
Globally, the number of cryptocurrency users reached about 420 million people last year, with males accounting for 63% and females 37% of this number.
In terms of geographical distribution, India tops the list with about 94 million users, followed by China with 59 million users, then the United States with 52 million users.
This rapid growth in the number of users reflects the global trend towards adopting cryptocurrencies as part of the financial system, indicating their increasing role in the future digital economy.
