XRP Google Searches Hit a New High
According to Google Trends data, searches for the term “XRP cryptocurrency” have reached a new peak, surpassing their peak in 2017.
The Google Trends metric shows the general interest in a search term on a scale of 0 to 100, with 100 being the highest.
In December, XRP scored 28 points compared to just 22 points for Ethereum (ETH), while Bitcoin (BTC) led the interest chart with 43 points.
The recent surge in XRP interest is linked to a price performance that pushed the coin’s price to nearly $3, briefly pushing its market cap above $150 billion, making it the third-largest cryptocurrency in the world.
However, despite the massive increase in searches, the data shows a rapid decline in interest in the coin.
The search score dropped from 100 to 22 in just a month, suggesting that the momentum was temporary and related to the price rally.
Currently, XRP is trading near $2.40, down 0.8% in the past 24 hours, and still 28.8% below its all-time high of nearly seven years ago
