What is Vana?
Vana is a Layer-1 blockchain designed to be open source and decentralized, with the goal of empowering individuals to take control of their personal data. The idea is that Vana creates real value for data by providing secure and private transactions, and helps advance artificial intelligence through trusted, fully owned data.
Basic uses of $VANA
Network Security
Validators use $VANA as collateral to secure the blockchain and earn rewards for their work.
Note: In the first launch phase, rewards go to a “public benefit” fund to support the development of the system.
Transaction fees
All transactions on the Vana network are made using $VANA, whether they are data operations, running smart contracts, or transactions with DataDAOs (Decentralized Data Organizations).
Staking with DataDAOs
Users contribute their data by “staking” $VANA with DataDAOs.
The best DataDAOs in terms of data quality are rewarded, which encourages competition and ensures high-quality data.
Data access currency
If you want to buy data from DataDAOs, $VANA is the base currency, and you can exchange it for other currencies if needed.
Major trading currency
$VANA is the main pair for all coins issued by DataDAOs, which facilitates exchange within the system.
Governance
$VANA holders participate in voting on network decisions and help direct the project.
Initially, $VANA management will be in the hands of the Vana Foundation, and then it will gradually be transferred to the community.
Tokenomics
Total Supply: $120,000,000 VANA
Community percentage: 66.9%
The coins will be distributed over a maximum of 60 months.
For the community within 36 months and represents 44% of the currencies offered
to the ecosystem within 48 months and represents 22.9% of the offered currencies
For core shareholders over 60 months and represents 18.8% of the offered currencies
For investors within 36 months and represents 14.2% of the currencies offered
Distribution stages (24 months)
Phase 1: Building Data Fluidity (0-6 months)
Focus on encouraging DataDAOs and rewarding early contributors.
Phase 2: Accelerating AI Innovation (6-12 months)
Support new AI projects and collective models.
Phase 3: Decentralization and Community Governance (12-18 months)
Empowering the community to manage the grid and gradually reduce emissions.
Phase 4: Network Expansion (18-24 months)
Ensure sustainability and develop interconnectedness between data sources.
Added value within the system
DataDAOs are allowed to issue tokens specific to datasets.
$VANA connects all activities together and stimulates innovation and collaboration in the field of artificial intelligence.
Vana is opening up a whole new field of personal data management, ensuring that the people who own the data are the ones who benefit from it. Its goal is not just to organize your data, but to enable you to achieve real returns from it, whether you are an individual, a developer, or a researcher!
