Movement’s wave of listings has not yet ended, and Magic Eden’s airdrop has followed closely.
On December 10, Magic Eden, a cross-chain NFT market that has raised US$130 million, announced a TGE and launched an airdrop event for users to claim token ME. Many hair-raising studios posted their results on social media, saying that this was another high-return project this year. However, since there is no detailed data on the ME token airdrop on the market, PANews conducted data analysis on Magic Eden’s airdrop program and analyzed the 125,000 addresses that have been received to determine the gold content of the Magic Eden airdrop.
"Low-income households" receive $272
As of 14:00 on December 11, a total of 92.26 million ME tokens have been claimed, and more than 73.8% of the tokens have been claimed. Overall, the amount of airdrops received in this round of Magic Eden is approximately US$738 million.
The most distributed addresses are those with less than 100 coins, with 45,936 addresses receiving less than 100 coins. The minimum address can receive 34 ME tokens, which is equivalent to receiving $272 based on the maximum of 8 US dollars. There are 6917 addresses that receive 34 ME tokens, accounting for about 5.5%. The remaining 94.5% addresses receive the amount. be higher than this amount. From this perspective, ME’s airdrop can also be regarded as a major benefit.
The number of addresses receiving amounts between 101 and 500 ranked second, with 43,182 addresses. Addresses that received less than 2,000 coins accounted for 91.8% of the received addresses. On average, each address received 735.8 coins, with a maximum value of approximately US$5,886.
Among the addresses that have been claimed, there are 664 addresses with profits of more than $100,000. There are 7 addresses with more than 100,000 coins, of which the single highest address is 160,037 coins. At the highest price of 8 US dollars, the income of this address exceeds 1.28 million US dollars.
Magic Eden, Movement, Hyperliquid, who is the king of airdrops?
Several recent airdrop projects have focused on TGE, making hairy players once again the envy of the industry. Comparing several recent airdrop projects, 98.5% of the addresses that have received airdrops from Movement have received more than 100 coins, with a value greater than $100. About 43.4% of Hyperliquid’s received amounts are more than 100 pieces, worth about $1,000 or more. About 94.5% of Magic Eden addresses received more than 34 pieces, worth more than $272.
Comparing the highest single address, Hyperliquid's largest single address received more than 9.56 million US dollars, Movement's largest single address received about 500,000 US dollars, Magic Eden's largest single address received about 1.28 million US dollars, between between the first two.
From the above data, Hyperliquid's single address has the highest profit, and the per capita profit is also higher. But from an inclusive perspective, Magic Eden’s sun-drenched effect is better.
After the token is launched, price differences between different platforms generally appear.
After the ME token was launched, there was a large price difference between on-chain exchanges and centralized exchanges. On DEXs such as Meteora and Raydium, the price of ME reached a maximum of $13 per unit. On the morning of December 11, the price on Meteora also rose to $9.9. On mainstream centralized exchanges such as Binance, the highest price of ME is $8. The reason for this price gap mainly stems from the differences in the time when ME tokens are listed on each exchange. Meteora listed ME as early as 22:00 on December 10, while Binance’s opening price was at 23:00. In addition, the depth of trading between individual transactions may also be a major reason for this spread. Among ME’s currency holding addresses, Binance and OKX are still the largest exchange currency holding addresses.
MOVE, which was issued the day before, also had the problem of large price differences among exchanges. Being the first to list coins has become the first principle of various exchanges for star airdrop projects.
Returning to the fundamental information of Magic Eden, according to nftpulse data, Magic Eden currently leads the NFT trading market. In the past year, Magic Eden has more than 1.5 million active users. One-year trading revenue exceeds $60.3 million, more than three times that of second-place OpenSea. However, in terms of trading volume, Magic Eden is still lower than Blur, with a market share of about 19.5%.
However, as an NFT trading market that focuses on rune trading, Magic Eden’s main transactions are still focused on runes. Strictly speaking, it is quite different from the main business directions of OpenSea and Blur. But from the perspective of transaction revenue, Magic Eden’s annual income of $60 million can rank around 30th among DeFi protocols, basically on par with Avalanche’s fees, and even ahead of Phantom and Arbitrum. From this perspective, if the rune market can explode again in the future, there is still a lot of room for growth in the development of Magic Eden.
